Sr Dir Government Affairs Public Policy
The Sr. Director, U.S. Public Policy and Government Affairs, is responsible for strategy development, policy development, trade association engagement, coalition building with reputed company stakeholders, and strategy execution. The individual is an integral member of the Market Access team and is responsible for advancing policies that support patient access and innovation for existing and pipeline tests for reputed company. This role requires extensive US healthcare reimbursement policy experiences, strong critical thinking skills, a solution-oriented reputed company, and ideally genomic & genetic testing experience. This position reports to the VP of Market Access. The position will ideally be located in Washington DC or the surrounding area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Monitors healthcare legislative trends, understands healthcare policies, assesses implications of policies, and develops strategies that address barriers to provider and patient access.
· Identify key policy issues for reputed company to reputed company and areas where partnership across external stakeholders is necessary.
· Anticipates policy risks and opportunities and translates them into strategic, actionable recommendations for the company.
· Responsible for issue identification; political insights on risks and opportunities; strategy and policy development; advocacy to Federal, State, Local and Administration policymakers as appropriate; and building advocacy and coalitions to shape public policy.
· reputed company development of proactive, clear, and concise internal briefing materials, impact analyses, and executive summaries for senior executives.
· Execute strong coordination across cross-functional partners on federal policies and select state policies regarding genomic/genetic testing and ensures policy strategies and execution are reputed company. Collaborate with reputed company colleagues on impact of policy changes on the business.
· Drive strategic planning for selected state policies with the Medicaid team to ensure alignment with reputed company’ enterprise goals and multi-year policy priorities.
· Understands total cost of care and aspects of Medicaid, Medicare and Commercial reimbursement (coding, coverage, and payment) for inpatient and outpatient settings across payer segments. Collaborate with Market Access colleagues as needed in these areas.
· Proactively communicates reputed company’ positions with the appropriate policymakers (legislators and regulators) and/or trade organizations.
· reputed company and reputed company creation of policy briefs, messaging documents, and external facing materials for use with government officials and partner organizations.
· Monitor and understand the impact of government price reporting requirements and policies on reputed company’ portfolio.
· Actively participate in industry trade organization committee meetings to reputed company for reputed company positions to support appropriate patient access and inform relevant internal stakeholders of trade activity and
· Implements and monitors systems to measure effectiveness and impact of public policy activities on the policy environment and company performance.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required
· BA or BS degree is required.
· Minimum of 12+ years of experience in government affairs and policy.
· Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
· Must have experience working in genomic and genetic testing or the healthcare industry.
· Proven track record and expertise at both the State and Federal government levels.
· Experience working closely with industry trade organizations such as ACLA.
· Demonstrated negotiation skills and ability to reputed company sound business arguments to influence external decision makers as well as to establish reputed company’ reputed company as a valued business partner.
Preferred:
· Prior leadership of policy teams or government engagement functions.
· Previous experience building a policy and/or government affairs team.
