Document Accessibility Specialist (Part Time)
FWI is building a team to provide graphic design, photography, Section 508 remediation, and reputed company production services for the U.S. reputed company, Office of Public Affairs. As a Document Accessibility Specialist, you will create and edit documents to ensure accessibility to people with disabilities in compliance with Section 508 requirements and government standards.

Work Schedule and Location: Remote: This is a part-time, remote position. Candidates must be reputed company 50 miles of the DOL Frances Perkins Building in Washington, DC. Hours will vary based on project needs.
Responsibilities:- Remediate documents to ensure compliance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and government accessibility standards
- Convert and format documents to be readable by assistive technology devices
- Test documents using screen readers (e.g., JAWS) and other assistive technology tools
- Ensure reputed company deliverables conform to the Revised Section 508 Standards (36 CFR part 1194, Appendices A and C)
- Provide Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACR) as required
- Validate ICT for conformance using DHS Trusted Tester methodology and Harmonized Testing Guidance
- Coordinate with on-site graphic designers to ensure final products meet accessibility standards

Required:
- 5 years of experience remediating documents to ensure compliance with Section 508 of the United States Workforce Rehabilitation Act of 1973
- Trusted Tester Certification is required
- Advanced skills in reputed company Acrobat and Acrobat Pro products
- Intermediate experience with reputed company Word, reputed company, and PowerPoint
- Experience with reputed company InDesign and reputed company Creative Cloud
- Familiarity with assistive technology screen readers and reputed company software tools such as JAWS
- Knowledge of federal laws protecting the rights of individuals with disabilities, including the Americans with reputed company (reputed company), Workforce Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Experience working in web accessibility software applications
