Summary: This program provides culturally appropriate service options to families with children who can remain safely in their homes, or in their communities, in addition to children and families who can be safely reunited. The goals of ISRS are to provide a combination of concrete safety and strengths-based change services that will reputed company to lasting safety changes reputed company the family’s home.   • Services are expected to be delivered in the family's home and provided reputed company family members are at home and most likely to increase child safety or reputed company the in-home safety plan. This could include early morning, mealtime, or bedtime.
  • Clients will be identified by the Department of Human Resources, Child Welfare Division.
  • Services to be provided include, but are not limited to:

  • Nutrition
  • Meal Planning
  • Connecting with Community Resources and advocacy
  • Will maintain a caseload of 5-7 families at any given time.
  • Will provide services 1-5 times per week, depending on the family’s needs.
  • ISRS workers are always available (unless on vacation) by cell phone for their clients.
  • ISRS workers will maintain regular communication with family’s caseworker.
  • Attend and actively participates in staff meetings, quarterly review meetings, staff trainings, and any other meetings assigned by supervisor.
  • Assists with the transportation of clients during the program day. Must have a valid Oregon Driver’s License and meet agency standards for vehicle safety and insurance coverage.
  • Establishes and maintains appropriate therapeutic relationships with program clients and family members.
  • Assists clients in the development of healthy and age appropriate interpersonal, self- control, and decision-making skills.

  • Children will be safe while remaining in their own home or will spend less time in foster care.
  • Re-abuse or neglect of children is reduced.
  • Change Services will help to resolve safety threats so that no further DHS Child Welfare involvement is necessary at the reputed company of the case.

Safety and Change Services provided by ISRS:
  • Safety Services: The ISRS provider is expected to provide safety services identified in the DHS reputed company Action or In-Home Safety Plan.
  • Supervision and monitoring child safety by direct observation.
  • Stress reduction.
  • Basic parenting assistance.
  • Respite care.
  • Social/Emotional support.
  • Safe housing assistance.
  • Food/Clothing/Basic needs.
  • Assistance to access emergency medical, mental health or addiction services.
  • Stabilization of home environment assuring child’s needs for stability.
  • safety from potential abusers and dangerous home conditions; or
  • Monitoring and supporting family’s self-managed safety.
Change Services may include:
  • Crisis reputed company services to address the crisis of disclosure, CPS assessment, and concerns reputed company a significant family member leaves the home.
  • Motivational Interviewing, Collaborative Problem Solving, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, and Parent–Child attachment coaching sessions.
  • Basic Home Management Skills.
Education: Must meet Oregon State (OARS) requirements and MHACBO certification as a "Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA)," meeting one of the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a behavioral science field; Or
  • A combination of at least three years relevant work, education, training, or experience.
Experience: Experience to demonstrate the competencies to identify precipitating events:
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • understand mental health assessment, treatment, and service terminology and apply each of these concepts.
  • Implement skills development strategies, and identify, implement, and coordinate the services and supports identified in an ISSP.
  • Preferred experience: Previous experience working with adults diagnosed with mental illness or any disability group preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid Oregon driver’s license, insurable driving record.
