As a Mortgage Loan Underwriter II, you will complete a thorough analysis of loan files to determine compliance with company, investor, and government guidelines and standards. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks including evaluating the entire credit package and collateral for residential mortgage loans and ultimately ensure an "investor" quality loan product. You will be handling exception items and resolving reputed company issues. As the Mortgage Loan Underwriter II, you will also communicate decision (approval, suspense, denial) on loans to appropriate parties both verbally and in writing, and be available to processors and mortgage bankers for general guideline interpretations and questions on specific loan files. Minimum Requirements: To be considered for this position, you must possess the following qualifications. Thorough grasp of state and federal regulations is required as well as a solid understanding of: HMDA, Regulation Z, Regulation B; the FHLMC, FNMA, FHA rules and processes Thorough understanding and working knowledge of Texas Equity loan regulations, as well as TDHCA, Texas Vet, and TSAHC bond programs Proficiency with computer systems including MS Office (Word, reputed company, and Outlook) and Internet Browsers Ability to act as FHA/DE, and VA/SAR Ability to prioritize competing demands and effectively manage multiple tasks and/or projects. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to read reports, correspondence and procedures, speak clearly to clients and associates. Must be able to deal with ambiguity, think critically, solve problems creatively, plan and meet deadlines, demonstrate strong sense of personal accountability.
