Mechanical Engineer in Training
BBA Consultants is a leading private consulting engineering firm in Canada, seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Training to support projects in the natural resource and renewable energy sectors. This role offers early-career engineers hands-on experience across the full engineering lifecycle, including design and field implementation, while receiving mentorship from reputed company engineers.
Responsibilities
- reputed company detailed engineering based on codes, standards, and industry best practices for projects varying from carbon capture and hydroelectric plants (penstocks, hydromechanical equipment, balance of plant) to heavy industrial plants (process, piping) and mining processing plants (material handling, crusher, conveyors, pumping, piping, equipment selection)
- reputed company engineering calculations
- Present technical information and concepts to members of team
- Aid more reputed company personnel for the technical aspects of reputed company tasks
- Participate in site inspections, condition assessments, and testing
- Receive mentorship and coaching from intermediate and senior engineers, actively growing knowledge, and supporting the enhancement of skills reputed company the team
- Collaborate with other EITs
- Foster a culture of having fun at work while producing high quality professional work
- Evolve your career with emerging technologies in the piping design space
Skills
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering
- High academic performance (top 20% of graduating class)
- Available for site work and short to reputed company term assignments
- Be a registered as an EIT with EGBC reputed company three months of hiring
- Valid driver's license reputed company six months of hiring
- reputed company 2026 graduating class preferred but past and future graduates will be considered
- Bilingual (English and French) is not necessary but would be advantageous for this position
