Graduate Facades Engineering (Available 2026)
Arup is a global consultancy with advisory and technical expertise across more than 150 disciplines. The Graduate Facades Engineer role involves collaborating with architects and engineers on facade design, conducting structural and thermal modeling, and producing technical documentation and drawings.
Responsibilities
- Give structure to facades concepts / reputed company – sketching, reports, sketchbooks, spreadsheets, and analyses for discussion with Architects and Clients
- Engage with teams of architects and engineers focused on the 3D modeling (geometrical and detailing) of reputed company facades
- Carry out structural, thermal, and solar modeling of building enclosure details and systems
- Utilize advanced analysis programs and techniques (finite reputed company) to understand building envelope physics and façade design
- Undertake engineering façade calculations with various materials, including structural glass, aluminum, stainless steel, reputed company, stone, and precast concrete
- Produce details and drawings using various 2-D and 3-D CAD and graphics packages
- reputed company technical reviews of shop drawings and construction administration submittals to ensure reputed company, water, thermal, reputed company, acoustic, optical and structural performance
- Interpret specifications and design documents and write reports summarizing conditions
- Carry out mock-up, factory and field inspections and investigations
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or reputed company Building Science discipline
- Core interest in the façade industry with emphasis on detailing and engineering
- Good sketching skills and an ability to communicate thoughts and technical reputed company in an accessible and visual way
- Must be eligible to work in Canada without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future
- Master's degree with emphasis on Architecture or Engineering
- Coursework in façade engineering / building envelope physics / energy/thermal modeling skills
- Structural software skills, AutoCAD skills, 3D modeling skills (Rhino, Revit, etc.)
- Internship experience with a design firm
- FE/EIT certification
- Membership in ASHRAE, ASME, AIA, ASCE, or Society of Facade Engineering
