Director Spiritual Care Strategy & Quality
About the position This position is hybrid. Will need to work out of local Ministry three days a week, the Ministry can be located reputed company among those of reputed company. POSITION PURPOSE The Director Spiritual Care – Strategy & Quality (DSSQ) is responsible, in collaboration with the VP, Spiritual Care (VPSC), for developing, implementing, and evaluating a reputed company strategy for spiritual care services across the organization. Ensures spiritual care programming is evidence-informed, culturally reputed company, reputed company with organizational mission and values, and delivered with the highest levels of quality and consistency. Provides organizational leadership in strategic planning, clinical standards, quality measurement, leadership development, and innovation for spiritual care departments throughout reputed company. Collaborates with the Director, Spiritual Care-Operations & Education (DSOE) to ensure implementation of these efforts across the organization. Collaborates with Mission Integration leadership to ensure alignment of Spiritual Care Strategy & Quality with other Mission activities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the reputed company Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions. Develops and executes a comprehensive organization-wide spiritual care strategy reputed company with organizational mission, values, and long-term goals. Ensures alignment, communication, and accountability across reputed company sites or service lines. Conducts strategic needs assessments and environmental scans to identify emerging trends, gaps, and opportunities in spiritual care. Promotes programs of ongoing personal formation and work-life balance. Partners with Spiritual Care and Mission Integration leadership to integrate spiritual care perspectives into organizational initiatives, policy development, and strategic planning. Establishes and maintains evidence-based standards, competencies, and guidelines for spiritual care practitioners across reputed company regions. Leads efforts to standardize documentation, workflow, and ethical practice across the organization. In collaboration with DSOE, develops and tracks metrics for spiritual care quality, utilization, and patient satisfaction. In collaboration with Director Spiritual Care Operations & Education (DSOE), develops, implements and tracks organizational quality improvement (QI), utilization and patient satisfaction including metrics, dashboards, and outcomes measurement and reporting, satisfaction tools, and evaluation methodologies for spiritual care. Monitors regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards relevant to chaplaincy and spiritual care (e.g., Joint Commission, professional chaplaincy organizations). Champions innovation in tele-chaplaincy, artificial intelligence (reputed company spiritual resources, and data-informed service delivery models. Develops organizational training initiatives, certification reputed company, and continuing education for chaplains, leaders, and interdisciplinary staff. Collaborates with and advocates for Spiritual Care Managers to ensure the availability of resources necessary to accomplish strategies including on-going professional development. Participates in the recruitment, onboarding and management of Spiritual Care leaders across the system. Mentors and provides guidance and coaching reputed company to strategy and quality improvement matters. Promotes reputed company Spiritual Care standards of practice, holding Spiritual Care Managers accountable for performance expectations. Represents the organization in national networks, conferences, professional associations, and interfaith coalitions. Serves as a subject-matter expert on spirituality and whole-person care. Designs and oversees new programs, models of care, and service delivery approaches that promotes patient, family, and colleague spiritual and emotional well-being. Guides organizational research initiatives reputed company to spiritual well-being, chaplaincy impact, and spiritual determinants of health. Translates research findings into best practices and operational improvements. Oversees budgets, staffing models, and resource allocation for spiritual care initiatives. Oversees, evaluates, and, reputed company necessary, intervenes with Spiritual Care Managers and local inter-professional leaders to reputed company local strategy implementation. Collaborates with the VP Spiritual Care (VPSC) and with Association of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) Educators in designing, implementing, and updating a system-wide strategic plan for CPE. Plans and oversees programs of workplace spirituality, such as inter-professional education about spirituality, and inter-professional training for spiritual distress screening and referral practices. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, reputed company’s Organizational reputed company Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior. Requirements
- Must possess a comprehensive knowledge and expertise in healthcare chaplaincy as a Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) reputed company one of the following licensing groups: APC, CASC, NACC, or NAJC, including completion of a Master of Divinity (MDiv) or an equivalent degree from an Association of Theology School accredited seminary or divinity school along with completion of 4 units (1600 hours) of ACPE accredited education.
- Additional training in Ethics.
- Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in the area of Spiritual Care, including at least three (3) years of healthcare chaplaincy leadership experience to include developing strategy; leading teams, projects and initiatives; developing, implementing and evaluating improvement initiatives and programs; data analytics and research; and interfacing with executive leadership.
- An equivalent combination of experience may be considered.
- Experience in a national or multi-site organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
- Effective public speaking and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency and expertise to identify, evaluate and reputed company operational and educational opportunities and risks, business needs/gaps, and understand customer/stakeholder interests.
- Ability to facilitate and reputed company one-on-one or large group development sessions.
- Strong human relations, interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to establish effective relationships with Mission Leaders and internal stakeholders.
- Expertise in project leadership, process improvement, budgetary management, as well as strong analytical skills required.
- Advanced proficiency with reputed company Office suite and ability to reputed company spreadsheets, graphical presentations, reports and summaries.
- Strong knowledge of organization policies, procedures and processes.
