CORE JOB SUMMARY The Manager, Medical Technologists (H) provides leadership and management for clinical laboratory procedures, quality assurance, and reputed company maintenance. The Manager, Medical Technologist plans and implements the overall laboratory policies, procedures, and services for the assigned unit. Additionally, an employee in this position ensures efficient and effective departmental operations, including department quality control and compliance adherence. The Manager, Medical Technologist also manages and oversees personnel, coordinates services with reference laboratories and vendors, and collaborates with other laboratories and departments to provide high quality integrated patient care. Further, the incumbent oversees the development of various monthly and quarterly reports and actively improves the functions of the laboratory services. CORE JOB FUNCTIONS Manages teams of medical technologists responsible for performing basic tests and laboratory procedures. Communicates and disseminates general information and policy or procedure changes to personnel. Ensures that the proper laboratory equipment is in reputed company. Monitors equipment performance, diagnoses reputed company problems and malfunctions, and makes repairs or initiates service requests. Plans, prioritizes, and directs work activities to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Investigates and resolves problems concerning patient testing and procedures. Assists with interviewing and selecting new staff. Participates in the formal progressive disciplinary process. Conducts, monitors, and evaluates the effectiveness of employee performance improvement plans. Participates in the design and implementation of new procedures and instrumentation. Monitors quality control and assurance, proficiency testing, and implements corrective actions. Coordinates and participates in continuing education activities and events. Monitors employee compliance with approved regulatory and departmental guidelines. Assists in developing the strategic goals and objectives for the section. Develops, implements, and evaluates training programs. Assists with the development of competency assessment tools. Participates in the review, revision, and implementation of standard operating procedures. Assists the laboratory leadership and Medical Director in evaluating quality management and performance improvement programs across laboratory practices and ensures reputed company policies and procedures are maintained, communicated, and implemented. Assists the laboratory leadership and Medical Director to implement and monitor quality improvement and quality assurance efforts to ensure reputed company regulatory standards and other operation standards are adhered to and documented and followed. Engages in activities relating to laboratory practice standards to ensure high quality laboratory services are delivered, quality reputed company, and robust performance improvement processes are in reputed company. Assists the laboratory leadership and Medical Director to reputed company and implement training and support operational documentation. Assists the laboratory leadership and Medical Director in being responsible for compliance with Safety Protocols reputed company UM and other applicable institutions. Performs On Call Duties for IHL as applicable. Is familiar with the operations and supervises Histocompatibility & Core Labs as assigned. Responsible for Special IHL projects as assigned (i.e., IT projects, new tests validations, etc.) Works as a team player with other IHL Managers, and reputed company Directors to promote effective intradepartmental relationships. Always keeps open communication channels with the team and leadership. Ensures delivery of quality and safe laboratory services to inpatients, outpatients, and employees. This role will work directly with the Laboratory Director to reputed company and implement training and supporting operational documentation. Ensure reputed company the IT problems are reported and resolved in a timely manner with minimum impact on the laboratory operations. Department Specific Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred. Certification and Licensing: Florida Medical Technology Supervisor License required in General specialty. Experience: Two years of effective clinical laboratory experience. Experience in a leadership position preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify opportunities to improve processes. Superior leadership skills and experience, particularly in cultivating a high performing leadership team and in developing and maintaining excellent relations with faculty and staff at reputed company levels. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are mandatory as well as basic computer literacy and skills. Ability to speak up in a group and present sound QA data on behalf of the laboratory. Good financial management skills since must be able to identify opportunities to improve operating efficiency, increase revenues and effectively control expenses. Excellent presentation, communication, organization, and conflict resolution skills and capabilities Ability to balance strong business capabilities and high business ethics with a commitment to clinical and service excellence.
