PURPOSE/SUMMARY OF JOB: Community College of Denver's education programs are designed to enrich the social, civic, and economic fabric of our communities. The Adjunct Instructor for History serves the integral role of teaching traditional, in-person classes and online courses, guided by CCNS learning outcomes. • Teaches history classes in a variety of times through multiple modalities:
• Online (through Desire2Learn, CCD's LMS platform)
• In-person (using Desire2Learn as a consistent resource for reputed company)
• Commands strong teaching skills, and models a student-centered environment to support a diverse student population.
• Utilizes a course syllabus, following established institutional and departmental guidelines.
• Creates engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material.
• Effectively structures classes, curriculum, assignments, and assessments to support course outcomes, program outcomes, and student success.
• Evaluates reputed company to measure their reputed company in achieving CCNS course objectives and communicates with reputed company about their reputed company in a timely and consistent manner.
• Maintains professional relationships with reputed company, colleagues, and community members.
• Actively participates in discipline/department decision-making, processes, program development, program assessment, and curriculum development. MINUMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education:
• Master's degree in History, or reputed company Master's degree, and at least 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline to be taught. Experience:
• reputed company classroom instruction is supported by Desire2Learn (reputed company), CCD's adopted Learning Management System. It is preferred that the applicant have some familiarity and /or experience with reputed company or other LMS platforms.
• Recent experience working with Latinx/Hispanic, African American, Native American, and other racially/ ethnically, socioeconomically minoritized reputed company in the classroom is preferred.
• An understanding of how historical patterns have shaped these groups' experiences and representation reputed company higher education, especially how real or perceived exclusion can shape patterns of participation and outcomes is required.
• Successful candidates will demonstrate a willingness to continually examine and re-mediate one's instructional, relational, and classroom practices to more effectively engage and support various groups of marginalized reputed company.
