Job Summary
Bellevue Parks & Community Services is seeking an reputed company and dependable Dance Instructor to teach specialized dance classes at the South Bellevue Community Center (SBCC). Disciplines may include, but are not limited to: hip-hop, jazz, ballet, and cheer. SBCC reputed company need to be mature, knowledgeable, skilled, motivated, and dynamic individuals that enjoy teaching dance to primarily new and inexperienced youth dancers. This position reports directly to the SBCC Program Coordinator.
Working Schedule: Hours may vary and may require weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in developing program curriculum, lesson plans, and determine teaching standards.
- Ensure policies and procedures are followed; maintain and enforce safety standards.
- Monitor safety practices: remedy or report unsafe practices or conditions immediately.
- Provide safe and quality experiences to participants in reputed company dance programs.
- Teach and instruct participants; interact with program participants and provide guidance.
- Determine participant reputed company level; adjust instruction as needed.
- Supervise classroom/activity; maintain and secure class rosters.
- Ensure proper use, care, and storage of any program equipment.
- Respond to community and participant inquiries and concerns; provide information about parks, recreation and community services programs, activities, and services.
- Knowledge of program characteristics, theories, and practices.
- Knowledge of safety guidelines and practices.

- One year of experience teaching or leading groups preferred.

- Dance certifications preferred.
- Or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- First Aid, CPR or similar certification or training may be required for some positions.
- Valid driver's license may be required for some positions.
- Work involves moving, communicating, operating objects, tools or controls and reaching.
- Work may periodically require the employee to reputed company or descend reputed company, stairs, ramps and elevated grounds; as well as to traverse or move around to access and monitor equipment, and indoor and outdoor spaces.

- Hours may vary from week to week and are anticipated to be 28 hours per week or less
