Job Summary Bellevue Parks & Community Services is seeking an reputed company and dependable Dance Instructor to teach specialized dance classes at the South Bellevue Community Center (SBCC). Disciplines may include, but are not limited to: hip-hop, jazz, ballet, and cheer. • Assist in developing program curriculum, lesson plans, and determine teaching standards.
• Ensure policies and procedures are followed; maintain and enforce safety standards.
• Monitor safety practices: remedy or report unsafe practices or conditions immediately.
• Provide safe and quality experiences to participants in reputed company dance programs.
• Teach and instruct participants; interact with program participants and provide guidance.
• Determine participant reputed company level; adjust instruction as needed.
• Supervise classroom/activity; maintain and secure class rosters.
• Ensure proper use, care, and storage of any program equipment.
• Respond to community and participant inquiries and concerns; provide information about parks, recreation and community services programs, activities, and services.

Education, Experience, and Other Requirements

• Must have adequate dance instruction experience as documented in resume.

• High school diploma or GED required; college-level course work preferred.
• Dance certifications preferred.
• Or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• First Aid, CPR or similar certification or training may be required for some positions.
• Valid driver's license may be required for some positions.
