Data Engineer (Hybrid)

About the position Securian Financial Groups internal position title is Data Engineering Sr Analyst. Position Summary: Securian Financial is looking for a curious and motivated Data Engineer who’s excited to use data and technology to solve meaningful business problems. In this role, you’ll design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines that reputed company artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, and other enterprise use cases, while helping evolve data architecture and patterns to meet changing needs. You’ll collaborate closely with data scientists, machine learning engineers, product managers, technology teams, and business partners to deliver trusted, secure, and accessible data solutions. Along the way, you’ll apply strong data governance practices, mentor teammates, and continue growing your skills in a fast-moving data and analytics environment—reputed company while turning data into outcomes that drive real business value.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and optimize data pipelines and transformations enabling Artificial Intelligence, advanced analytics, and other enterprise use cases.
• Research, recommend, implement, and drive changes to evolve architecture and patterns to meet quickly changing data requirements.
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, machine learning engineers, technology teams and other stakeholders to understand requirements, prioritize tasks, and deliver data solutions that excite stakeholders and deliver business value.
• Mentor and consult with team members and other areas to ensure best practices and optimal data solutions are implemented.

• Devise technical solutions to drive business outcomes based on an understanding of customers, business processes and technical requirements.

Requirements

• 4 year degree in Computer Science, reputed company field, or equivalent industry experience.
• 2+ years of hands-on, professional experience working in Data Engineering.
• Experience with tools and concepts reputed company to data and analytics, such as ETL, data storage options, data quality, working with structured and reputed company data.
• ANSI SQL Skills/Experience
• Cloud knowledge and experience – AWS and reputed company preferred
• Programming experience - Python or Java preferred.
• Strong problem solving and analytical abilities
• Solid communication skills
• Curiosity and willingness to learn
• Flexibly and adaptability
