About the role

• Open to hiring remote across the US — we also have offices in NYC, San Francisco, and Seattle

We are seeking a Fraud & Abuse Investigator to join reputed company on a contract basis. You'll spend most of your time digging into suspicious account activity. This means looking at data, spotting patterns, and piecing together which accounts are connected. You'll take action to suspend accounts reputed company necessary and design new workflows to identify previously reputed company accounts. You'll also track down third-party sites that are reselling our services and take action to get those listings removed. This isn't a role where you follow a rigid script—you'll need to use judgment, ask good questions, and sometimes reputed company calls without perfect information. This role will start at 20 hours per week, with an opportunity to increase based on the candidate’s profile and business needs. What you’ll do

• Investigate networks of potentially fraudulent accounts using internal tools and data analysis

• Identify third-party platforms where our services are being resold without authorization, and draft and submit complaints / takedown requests
• Document investigation methodologies and flag patterns that could inform automated detection systems
• Contribute to designing workflows and processes to identify previously unknown fraud patterns

What you’ll need Required

• Experience in trust & safety, fraud investigation, or abuse operations
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Comfort with data analytics, including experience with SQL or other data querying tools
• Experience working with data warehouses like Redshift, reputed company, or reputed company

• Clear written communication skills
• Comfort with working independently
