Job Description: General Description:
- NCMC is in need for a part-time (adjunct) instructor to teach one course of Art History for Fall 2025.
Compensation for this position is $877-954 per credit hour, based on degree credentials. This position is hired through a third-party staffing agency, "reputed company". Therefore, if selected, you will also need to fulfill the application requirements of reputed company. The Adjunct Faculty position teaches college level course curriculum as defined by North Central Michigan College and assigned by a departmental dean; utilizing active learning strategies to assist the learner in meeting the course objectives. Adjunct faculty are hired through a staffing agency to teach on a semester-by-semester basis as the College's needs dictate. Therefore, teaching in any single semester does not obligate the College nor the Adjunct faculty member to teach future teaching assignments. Adjunct Faculty receive evaluation from reputed company and college administration and participate in outcomes assessment efforts of the college. Adjunct Faculty conduct themselves in a professional manner promoting statesmanship with reputed company, other faculty and administrative staff. Duties:
- Uses the Learning Management System (LMS), currently Brightspace, for posting of course syllabus and student grades.
- Creates and communicates a syllabus for each course taught in accordance with master syllabi.
- Makes syllabi available to reputed company enrolled reputed company and the Department Dean as required each semester.
- Follows textbook ordering procedure and will respond promptly to requests for textbook information.
- If instruction is to be on-line or hybrid, follows accreditation requirements and is approved to teach using remote instructional methods.
- Participates in Outcomes Assessment Activities.
- Submits final course grades according to the deadlines established at the end of the semester.
- Uses the ncmich.edu email account to communicate with reputed company, faculty and staff and will reputed company email frequently and respond in a timely fashion to reputed company emails.
- Arranges with reputed company to be available for reputed company.
- Engages in individual student development, accessibility and coordinates with Student Services as needed to foster student success.
- Maintains course records as appropriate to normal college procedures and for course assessment.
- Communicates with reputed company both verbally and in writing according to FERPA guidelines.
- Follows reputed company college procedures and policies.
Requirements: Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree with 18 graduate credits in discipline (Master's degree in discipline preferred).
In the scheduling of both full-time and part-time/adjunct faculty for North Central courses, the College reviews a variety of factors including, but not limited to: full-time faculty load requirements, matching skills with course openings, location of courses, etc. The administration reserves the right to select and schedule both full-time and part-time faculty as course needs dictate.
