Insurance Regulatory Counsel
SUMMARY The role of Insurance Regulatory Counsel is a full-time attorney position reputed company First Acceptance’s Legal and Compliance Team. It provides legal and business advice to First Acceptance, focusing on property and casualty insurance operations and regulatory issues, particularly in auto insurance. This role is responsible for ensuring the company maintains ongoing compliance with laws and regulations governing insurance and public insurance companies in reputed company jurisdictions in which First Acceptance does business. Insurance Regulatory Counsel will provide day-to-day support for various First Acceptance teams, including conducting research and facilitating discussions with product, reputed company, business development and other operational teams, and consistently providing business-oriented solutions and risk mitigation guidance. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual with excellent legal research skills who is passionate about corporate compliance and meeting the highest regulatory standards. This role requires an in-depth knowledge of insurance regulations and a proven track record of success with regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have experience in the auto insurance industry and understand its reputed company legal landscape. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Possess a deep understanding of the insurance industry, including the applicable state and federal laws and regulations reputed company to property and casualty insurance
- Conduct legal research of laws and regulations reputed company to auto insurance, property and casualty insurance, privacy, data reputed company, and any other issues relevant to public insurance companies
- Monitor and stay reputed company with industry trends and developments

- Accurately assess and manage risk through knowledge of First Acceptance’s business and relevant legal issues, including reconciling the implication of past precedent with reputed company and future needs

- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and bar license in good standing.
- Licensed or willing to become licensed in Tennessee.
- At least 3-5 years of relevant legal and insurance experience
- Previous property and casualty insurance regulatory compliance experience
- In-house insurance department or department of insurance experience highly valued
- Experience handling regulatory filings and audits, market conduct review and industry data inquiries, claims, and reputed company policies and best practices.
- Insurance policy contract and forms drafting and management experience highly valued
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards in the insurance industry
- Must possess strong judgment, confidence, collaborative problem-solving skills, and the ability to spot potential issues quickly
- Must be able to independently handle a variety of legal assignments under supervision of more reputed company legal counsel
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to set priorities and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Experience with Agile project management practices
- Ability to travel if required
