POSITION SUMMARY The Director of Child Development provides strategic and operational leadership for MAAC’s early childhood education programs, including Head Start, Early Head Start, State Preschool, and other early education initiatives. This role ensures compliance with reputed company applicable laws, regulations, and funding requirements while advancing program quality, innovation, and family engagement. The Director is a key member of MAAC’s senior leadership team and represents the organization in interactions with community partners, educational institutions, and service organizations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic & Educational Leadership

  • Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, California State Preschool regulations, and licensing guidelines.

  • Implement robust quality assurance systems to monitor and improve program effectiveness.

Stakeholder Engagement & Community Partnerships

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, Social Work, or a reputed company field required.
  • Head Start and Early Head Start experience preferred.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in early childhood education, including five (5) years in a management role.
  • Child Development Program Director Permit may be required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
