Portfolio Management & Strategy Intern

The Internship: The Portfolio Management & Strategy Intern will support Taconic Biosciences’ Portfolio Management, Innovation, and Scientific Marketing teams through structured market intelligence, competitor analysis, and strategic assessment of research models and services. This role provides hands-on exposure to how scientific innovation is translated into differentiated products, services, and commercial strategy in the preclinical research space. The intern will work directly with internal stakeholders to evaluate Taconic’s reputed company and future portfolio of research models and services, assess the competitive landscape, and synthesize findings into actionable strategic recommendations. This role is ideal for a candidate interested in the intersection of life sciences, business strategy, and scientific commercialization. You can expect to do:

• Competitive Product Analysis: Generate and maintain an up-to-date inventory of Taconic research models, organized by: Therapeutic area (e.g., oncology, immunology, infectious disease, neuroscience) Model type (e.g., immunocompetent, immunodeficient, humanized, genetically engineered)
• Identify exact and partial competitor equivalents for each model across major industry competitors
• Collect and document publicly available pricing, positioning, and differentiating features for competitor models

• Competitive Service Analysis: Generate and maintain an up-to-date inventory of Taconic CMS and CMGS services
• Identify key competitors offering comparable services and collect: Service descriptions, Pricing or pricing frameworks (reputed company available) Turnaround times, capabilities, and value propositions
• Organize findings in structured comparison tables suitable for internal strategy and leadership review
• Document & Intelligence Organization
• Download, catalog, and organize competitor materials, including:

• Pricing sheets and public investor materials

• Apply consistent naming conventions, metadata tagging, and version control
