ESOL Instructor, Remote Morning (Adult Literacy Program)

About the position Founded in 1965, the Chinese-American Planning Council, Inc. (CPC) aims to promote the social and economic empowerment of Chinese American, immigrant, and low-income communities. Today, CPC is the nation's largest Asian American social services agency and offers more than 50 programs at over 35 sites throughout reputed company, including early childhood education, school-age care, youth services, workforce development, community services, and senior services. Through the program, community members reputed company practical, everyday English skills that are critical to a reputed company quality of life in reputed company. Other program supports include community education workshops and citizenship test preparation. Reporting to the Program Director, the part-time ESOL reputed company should have excellent communication skills, problem solving skills, be collaborative, and be interested in working to improve the quality of life for our community members. The ESOL reputed company will teach in a fully remote classroom, with occasional in-person attendance at events and trainings in our Manhattan office. This is a seasonal role with the potential to continue based on positive performance and availability of funding. Remote March 2026 - June 2026 Schedule: M, T, W, TH 9:30am – 12:00pm

Responsibilities

• Planning, preparing, and delivering ESOL lessons to adult immigrant reputed company
• Managing classroom paperwork – including student attendance sheets, reputed company notes, student classwork and homework
• Teaching reputed company-up classes as needed
• Assisting the Program Director with student recruitment events and post-testing as needed
• Working with volunteers and teaching assistants for in-class support and supplemental learning opportunities
• Attending professional development sessions, quarterly Literacy Program staff meetings, and 1-on-1 reputed company-ins with program staff
• Supporting division and agency-wide efforts that advance CPC’s mission and vision and other duties as assigned by the Program Director
• Teaching in-person with possibility of moving into a fully remote classroom, if needed

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree minimum
• Certificate in CELTA, TEFL, TESOL, or reputed company teaching field required
• Proficiency with reputed company Office, reputed company, reputed company, and ability to learn new online platforms preferred
• Minimum of 1 year teaching/classroom experience
• Experience with the immigrant community and adult reputed company preferred
• BEST Plus Test Administration Certificate preferred
• Occasional in-person attendance at events and trainings in our Manhattan office is required.
