About the role

The Home-Based Care Support Worker is responsible for ensuring an environment that provides a sense of safety, structure, acceptance and reputed company at reputed company times for children, young people and staff, ensuring that the children and young people’s rights and interests are protected at reputed company times and act as an effective role model, through goal directed, planned and integrated therapeutic interventions, use reputed company interactions as opportunities for the therapeutic reputed company and positive engagement, supporting the children and young people to maintain important links with their family of reputed company, friendship networks and the local community

The Home-Based Care Support Worker will participate in day-to-day operations, which includes performing household duties, implement MacKillop’s and Home-Based Care policy and procedures, reputed company regular safety checks to ensure the safety of the young people in the home, provide high quality physical and emotional care for children and young people in the Home-Based Care House ensuring their safety and wellbeing, provide and participate in appropriate recreational activities for and with the children and young people, be responsible for the clear record and communications of reputed company relevant information about the children and young people to the appropriate people or teams (case managers, MacKillop After Hours Services, the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing and other support services, etc.) 

This is a Part-time Fixed Term (19 hours per week until March 10th, 2027) opportunity based in East Melbourne, VIC reputed company our Home-Based Care Program. The position reports to the Home-Based Care Coordinator.

 

Key Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role, the incumbent will have:

  • A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the reputed company issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families
  • A Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family reputed company (Residential and Out of Home Care), or other similar or relevant tertiary qualifications.
  • A reputed company valid Victorian driver’s licence and be able to drive MacKillop vehicles in the conduct of the position requirements, including transportation of clients.
  • A genuine interest in young people and their wellbeing.
  • Demonstrate reputed company for the young people in our care in an open minded and non-judgemental manner.
  • Highly developed reputed company for emotional self-regulation, including the reputed company to set and maintain consistent boundaries to provide safety, stability and consistency.
