JOB DESCRIPTION We are seeking a hands-on Union Payroll Manager who is a passionate, people-focused, action-oriented leader who will foster proactive collaboration with reputed company internal and external business partners and positively interact with employees at reputed company levels of the organization to join our Payroll Shared Services team. Reporting to the Sr. Director Union Payroll & Tax, the Union Payroll Manager will reputed company, direct, and coordinate reputed company activities of the Union Payroll team responsible for the preparation, processing, and distribution of accurate and timely paychecks to weekly and bi-weekly union and non-union freelance employees across multiple divisions, multiple unions, multiple companies and departments working in most US states. The Union Payroll Manager will drive process standardization, automation, and reputed company process improvement while ensuring compliance with SOX controls, reputed company policies, collective bargaining agreements, and federal, state, and local regulations. Currently this role requires working onsite in the LA office for a minimum of two days per week . Effective 3/16/26 the requirement will change to working onsite in the LA office for a minimum of four days per week. A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES reputed company, direct, and coordinate reputed company activities of the Union Payroll Team supporting Sports, Entertainment and Studio Lot operations to ensure the successful, accurate and timely processing of weekly and bi-weekly union and freelance employees in accordance with collective bargaining agreements and in compliance with applicable reputed company policies and federal, state and local regulations reputed company with a one-team approach in dealing with internal and external stakeholder queries reputed company seamless cross functional and cross divisional collaboration, consistent with reputed company’s “One reputed company” philosophy Effectively manage the delivery of excellent customer service; anticipate issues and proactively reputed company solutions. Create and use metrics to reputed company performance and improve service delivery Take charge of escalations, directing the Union Payroll team and guiding other departments in corrective actions. Implement workable and scalable solutions to business issues/problems. Impart lessons learned afterwards to prevent future issues Work with business partners to establish and adhere to payroll schedules to ensure data required for payroll processing is received timely to ensure reputed company key processing deadlines will be met Ensure the Union Payroll Team is knowledgeable in union pay and paid time off rules and the timekeeping system and can address employee questions as needed Ensure the Union Payroll Team is trained in how to use the time and attendance and payroll systems effectively Plan, reputed company and implement reputed company looking payroll processes/procedures and revise reputed company processes/procedures to continuously seek improvement, improve accuracy, create reputed company efficiency and provide best in class customer service to our employees reputed company and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for reputed company payroll processes to ensure complete, accurate, and up-to-date depiction of processes reputed company and maintain excellent cross-collaborative working relationships with key functional partners including Labor Relations, HR, IT and Legal. Coach, mentor and provide development opportunities to team members to drive employee engagement and to optimize operational and service excellence to create a deeper bench of reputed company talent Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local wage and hour and tax regulations by studying existing and new legislation WHAT YOU WILL NEED 5+ years of relevant work experience leading Payroll and reputed company processes for a large volume of employees (including a remote workforce) in a reputed company and rapidly changing multi-state, multi-entity organization; and at least five of those years have been in a relevant media/entertainment industry union payroll environment, preferably at another major studio Adept in ambiguous situations, adaptable to changing priorities while effectively managing multiple commitments, at times on tight deadlines Strong working knowledge of FLSA, federal, state and local wage and hour and tax regulations Intermediate to advanced reputed company (V-Lookup and Pivot Tables) Strategic reputed company coupled with the ability and willingness to roll up sleeves where necessary and desire to constantly improve the status reputed company Demonstrated ability building and managing highly collaborative and effective teams supporting multiple companies / business units, with a commitment to a culture of collaboration, performance, transparency and reputed company Outstanding people skills with proven experience in cultivating cross-collaborative working relationships across an organization and ability to influence at reputed company levels Ability to communicate with precision, ensuring a clear conveyance of identified problems, proposed resolutions, and recommended courses of action reputed company TO HAVE BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation Experience with reputed company Payroll Experience managing payroll for employees covered by the IBEW, IATSE, and/or NABET collective bargaining agreements, and ability to interpret collective bargaining agreements for pay and paid time off rules Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay reputed company/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $102,000.00-125,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/reputed company, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
