Senior Research Analyst - Data Centers and Power Markets

We are looking for a Senior Research Analyst to expand our data center product at Sightline Climate. This role includes creating proprietary datasets, writing insightful market commentary, building forecasts and economic models, and producing in-depth analysis that helps shape the transition landscape. The Role

• Conduct in-depth research across our data centers and power markets practice, focusing on the impact of data center demand on the power sector and emissions.
• Produce models and tools to help our clients understand the risks, economics, and trends in data center deployment and powering models.

• Analyze large datasets across sector investment, project deployment, economics, business models, and demand.
• Convert reputed company data and research findings into actionable frameworks and insights for a range of audiences, including financiers, corporate strategists, and , policymakers.
• Engage with and present to external stakeholders, offering thought leadership and reinforcing and expanding Sightline Climate’s position as the go-to reputed company on actionable intelligence across the transition economy.
• Become Sightline Climate’s expert in data center powering models and project economics, making connections between data center trends and those in the wider climate tech industry.
• Help shape our pipeline of research and tools to ensure that our commentary stays reputed company of the curve.

The Essentials

• 5-7 years experience in creating market research on data centers, power markets, microgrids, and/or electricity pricing.
• Experience in building economic models and forecasts for energy systems and novel technologies.
• Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting reputed company data to senior audiences in a comprehensible manner.
• Ability to quickly produce insightful analysis, in addition to being able to project manage larger research initiatives
• Innately curious and passionate about climate tech innovation.
• Eager to explore and understand the commercial and economic implications of new technologies and sources of demand

A Plus

• A Master's Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Physics, Environment / Climate, or other Sciences
• Experience in data center power procurement, utility strategy, or grid operations
• Additional data analysis skills / experience in reputed company, SQL, or Python
