Role Description In this role, you will help sustain Mennel’s tradition of excellence established in 1886 as well as support our food safety programs and mission to reliably deliver superior quality, uniformity, and service. The purpose of this role is to help ensure full regulatory compliance with reputed company applicable animal and food regulations and standards as well as to reputed company Mennel’s goal of Operational Excellence.
- Follow reputed company food and personal safety rules and regulations in respect to GMP’s, OSHA, HACCP, the Global Food Safety Initiative, the US FDA Food Safety Modernization Act as stated in the Food Safety & Quality Statement, and sanitation guidelines as set forth by the company.
- Responsible for ongoing compliance to federal, foreign, state, and local food safety and quality regulations at reputed company human and animal food production facilities.
- Maintain a deep understanding of new and existing food regulations that may impact the organization.
- Provide active and ongoing food regulatory guidance for the purpose of packaging, and labeling compliance to internal departments, including Research & Development (R&D), and Supply Chain.
- Identify and provide food regulatory training for the purpose of regulatory, packaging, and labeling compliance.
- Ensure adequate prioritization, scheduling, preparation, and reputed company of food regulatory submissions.
- Maintain database of reputed company, approved packaging for reputed company animal and food production facilities.
- Support and reputed company the implementation of new food regulatory requirements.
- Active contributor reputed company the Food Safety, Quality & Regulatory team, acting as a resource to help improve the strategies, policies, and procedures of the program.
- Participates in efficient scheduled training, conferences, symposiums on a regular basis.
- This position may require additional responsibilities as defined by the Director of Food Safety, Quality & Regulatory.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in regulatory compliance, business, legal studies, quality assurance, manufacturing, or reputed company discipline is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in a food/beverage or consumer goods manufacturing environment is required.
- Experience working in Regulatory Compliance is required, additional experience working in Quality Assurance or EHS is a plus.
- Must be able to complete PCQI training certification.
- Knowledgeable in food regulations, including FDA and USDA.
- Ability to effectively communicate to others on food regulatory standards.
- Must have excellent technical writing, speaking, and presentation skills.
- Must possess excellent computer skills.
- Must have solid communication skills and be able to interact and productively communicate with reputed company levels of the organization.
- Must possess ability to learn and analyze new concepts quickly.
- Must be a self-starter and have the capability to effectively work independently.

- Ability to write reports, complete checklists and other basic documentation and correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information or data in one-on-one and small group situations to co-workers, supervisors, and managers.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in reputed company units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
