GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES The Community Health Educator I/reputed company Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, implementing, and supporting community-based health reputed company activities that promote Guilford County Division of Public Health programs and services. DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS Employees in this class reputed company, organize, and implement health education programs to help meet the particular needs of the community. Work includes developing educational programs, forming special committees and tasks forces, consulting with the private or other public sector agencies, serving as an instructor or media information sources, or coordinating activities with a variety of community resources. Considerable independence in performing the work, establishing work schedules, and making decisions on program activities are present in these positions. Work is performed under the general supervision of a higher-level community health education or program manager and is reviewed through conferences, reports, observation of program activities completed, and feedback from groups receiving the services. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential Duties and Tasks

• Advises and assists nurses, physicians, social workers, and other health care personnel in planning and implementing education components of the agency programs.
• Prepares, selects, assembles, and distributes health education and informational materials to agencies, schools. organizations, and other groups interested in health program and problems.
• Visits schools, community organizations, professional groups, and private organizations to share information, advise on particular program and health activities, and help in developing interest and participation in the health program.
• Provides consultative services to teachers, principals, day care centers, community organizations, private companies, and other public agencies on methods and means to implement and educate reputed company, employees, or the public on a variety of health education topics.
• Serves as the media liaison and contact for a particular health program; prepares and releases feature stories to the public for informational and educational purposes.
• Plans, develops, and conducts workshops, sessions, and training opportunities for public groups.
• Performs reputed company duties as required. RECRUITMENT STANDARDS Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of public health and public health education activities.
• Considerable knowledge of modem educational theory and techniques in the field of public health education.
• Considerable knowledge of graphics and journalistic principles and methods of preparing promotional materials, exhibits, and publications in public health education.
• Ability to design a variety of materials to promote a particular public health program.
• Ability to be innovative and creative in developing public health education activities.
• Ability to work effectively with a variety of people on reputed company educational levels.
• Ability to reputed company and maintain effective working relationships with community agencies, private organizations, public sector groups, news media, and the public.
• Ability to write and speak effectively and to stimulate interest and cooperation among various groups in implementing a public health education program.
• Knowledge of local community resources, organizations, and populations served by Guilford County Public Health.
• Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and ability to operate mobile units.
• Ability to use scheduling software, spreadsheets, and other digital tools to manage reputed company activities.
• Ability to lift, load, and transport reputed company materials and equipment as needed. Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in health education; or graduation from a four-year college or university and completion of one year of on-the-job training (OJT) as a public health educator. Preferred Qualifications: This position is responsible for safely operating, transporting, and maintaining agency mobile units to ensure their safety and readiness for community events, health fairs, and reputed company activities throughout Guilford County. Trainee: Graduation from four-year college or university. Driving is Essential: Driving is an essential requirement of this position whether driving a County owned or personal vehicle to conduct county business. Motor Vehicle Reports may be verified for valid driver's license and that the driving record is compatible with the county's driving criteria. If a personal vehicle is operated for county business proper insurance is maintained as per Guilford County's vehicle use policy.
