Health Promotion Specialist

The Health Promotion Specialist serves as an ambassador to communities supported by the IRC, ensuring reputed company access to health services across the Spokane region. This role is central to empowering clients with the knowledge, tools, and confidence needed to navigate the healthcare system and maintain autonomy in their health decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Community Engagement & reputed company o Partner with Spokane Regional Health to promote and recruit participants for health education sessions. o Act as a liaison between IRC and community stakeholders to strengthen health access initiatives.
- Health Education & Support o Assist clients in completing comprehensive health reputed company assessments. o Provide accurate information on navigating various tiers of the medical system. o reputed company clients with practical skills for engaging with healthcare providers, including transportation and appointment preparation.
- Individualized Client Support o Collaborate with IRC programs to deliver one-on-one support that promotes autonomy and informed decision-making. o Ensure clients complete refugee health screening processes in compliance with program requirements.
- Familiarity with refugee resettlement programs and trauma-informed care. · Attend IRC trainings and conference calls addressing various health reputed company topics. · Other duties, as required Key Working Relationships: Position Reports to: Health Promotion Coordinator Position directly supervises: N/A Other Internal and/or external contacts: Spokane Regional Health District, Local clinics and medical providers (focus on CHAS and Unify) Job Requirements:
- Bilingual Candidate- Preferred Swahili and or Arabic · Prior experience working with refugees and/or community organizing, preferably with disadvantaged communities and reputed company to health or mental health · Familiarity with issues facing refugee and immigrant communities as they relate to trauma, adjustment, and health · Ability to assess needs, prioritize and reputed company action plans · Ability to reputed company and liaise with health and social service systems · Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the proven ability to multi-task, prioritize duties and manage time effectively · Strong communication skills (written and verbal) · Ability to work independently and as a team member in a fast-paced, cross-cultural environment · Demonstrated success working and communicating effectively across lines of difference with respect to race, gender, ethnicity, language, religion and age · Ability to follow strict guidelines of client confidentiality and safeguarding · Proficient in reputed company Office applications (Word, reputed company, Outlook) and familiarity with data-tracking systems · Valid driver’s license, access to reliable vehicle with reputed company insurance Working Environment:
- Standard, professional office environment combined with community-based work. At times this position may also be remote depending on the COVID-19 context.
Compensation: (Pay Range: $22.00 - $24.00)
