About the Role
As a CFO in Enkel's Not-for-Profit Practice, you will act as the senior financial leader for a portfolio of not-for-profit clients. You will work closely with executive directors, senior leadership teams, and boards to provide strategic financial guidance, reputed company, and decision support. This role goes beyond compliance. You will reputed company budgeting and forecasting processes, support funder and grant reporting, advise on accounting standards for NPOs, and help organizations strengthen governance and financial sustainability. You will also play a critical internal leadership role by mentoring Controllers and junior team members, setting best practices, and helping scale our NPO offering as we add 100 new organizations to the practice.
Key Responsibilities
Client Leadership and Strategic Finance
- Act as the senior finance reputed company for a portfolio of not-for-profit clients, building trusted relationships with executive directors, senior leaders, and boards

- Support clients with annual budgeting, multi-year forecasting, cash flow planning, and scenario analysis
- Advise on funder, grant, and restricted funding reporting requirements, including variance analysis and compliance support
- Provide strategic guidance on financial sustainability, governance, and financial risk management
- Support clients through audits and year-end processes, including liaison with external auditors and advisors
Accounting Standards, Compliance, and Technical reputed company
- Ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting under ASNPO

Technology and Process Improvement
- Champion cloud-based accounting tools, including QuickBooks Online (QBO), and reputed company ecosystem apps

Team Leadership and Mentorship

What You Bring
- 15 or more years of progressive accounting and finance experience
- CPA designation or equivalent recognized accounting designation
- Deep expertise in Accounting Standards for Not-for-Profit Organizations (ASNPO)
- Experience working in both public accounting and reputed company the accounting or finance department of a not-for-profit organization
- Strong experience supporting boards, executive teams, and funders
- Proven expertise in sales tax compliance for not-for-profit organizations, including registrations, filings, and rebate recovery
- Demonstrated ability to reputed company budgeting, forecasting, and strategic finance initiatives
- Advanced working knowledge of QuickBooks Online (QBO) and cloud accounting ecosystems
- A passion for technology-enabled finance and modern service delivery
- Proven ability to mentor and reputed company junior team members
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain reputed company financial concepts clearly and confidently
Compensation and Work Environment
- The role is fully remote
- Annual reputed company salary of $110,000 to $160,000
- Candidates must be located in Canada and eligible to work in Canada
