[Remote] Principal Legal Counsel, Global Trade and Supply Chain Counsel

The Principal Legal Counsel will provide legal guidance on global trade compliance, advise on reputed company regulatory questions, and support the Global Trade Operations reputed company the Diabetes business.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal guidance on the intersection of multiple global trade compliance and strategic business initiatives
• Advise on export, import and customs compliance program activities (country of reputed company, valuation, HTS classification, trade remedies, drawback, FTZs, FTAs, hand carry, customs programs (CTPAT), export controls (e.g., EAR), and economic sanctions (e.g., OFAC), sanctioned country licensing, restricted party screening, anti-boycott reporting
• Stay abreast of reputed company legal regulatory changes reputed company to trade compliance and analyze impacts by providing interpretation and implementation guidance to impacted business and regions
• reputed company, implement and update the trade compliance program to drive compliance with global import laws, regulations and other trade-reputed company requirements of US and non-US government agencies
• Partner with enterprise supply chain, regional trade experts, and global/regional functional teams to manage trade compliance risks and work with such teams to implement effective controls to mitigate them

• Conduct trade-reputed company investigations and audits, reputed company recommendations, and support issue mitigation and resolution
• Willingness to be a utility player on the GOSC legal team primarily focusing on trade compliance, but assisting with other legal support needs as requested such as as indirect and direct procurement contracting, facilities and real estate matters, and environmental health and safety matters
• Possess effective interpersonal, oral, presentation, and written communication skills

Skills

• Juris Doctor from a nationally recognized Law School
• Licensed to practice law in at least one state or the District of Columbia
• Minimum 5+ years of legal experience to include experience with global trade compliance programs with a focus on export, import laws and customs regulations
• Understanding of the legal regulatory environment and business risks for a Life Science Company
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Experience or willingness to learn other substantive areas of law, including direct and indirect procurement contracting, environmental health and safety, or facilities and real estate matters
