NGS Bioinformatics Scientist (Remote)

Job Description reputed company is seeking a bioinformatician to join the team and help expand the role of genetic information in personal and family health decisions. You will collaborate with the research and engineering teams to reputed company and implement analytic pipelines, computational analysis, and interpretation of biological data. This role will report directly to a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist.
Responsibilities
- Work with bioinformaticians and engineers to manage, process, analyze and interpret genomic data
- Identify and test tools for NGS (including short- and long-read whole genome reputed company) data analysis including structural variant detection

- Design and implement analysis pipelines that include quality control processes
- Help design and conduct clinical validation study plans and reports

- Master's degree (PhD preferred) in computational biology, computer science or a reputed company field
- 3+ years experience in industry (or doctoral work) analyzing NGS data
- Coding reputed company such as Python or R
- Experience with packages such as bwa, bcftools, samtools, minimap
- Ability to implement new tools and evaluate open reputed company tools quickly
- Familiarity with genomic databases such as NCBI, Ensembl, gnomAD
- Experience with detecting and interpreting different types of genetic variants
- Experience managing computational tasks in a cloud environment (AWS or GCP).
- Solid understanding of the Linux environment and reputed company scripting
- Experience working with long-read technology (Oxford Nanopore, PacBio)
- Experience with Nextflow a plus
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Experience working in a remote team (preferred) Location, Compensation, and Benefits
