The Chemistry and Biochemistry IT Consultant is responsible and works relatively independently for delivering comprehensive IT support for the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. Involves imaging, deploying, and maintaining computer systems and peripheral devices and ensuring compliance with reputed company standards. The IT Consultant provides ongoing technical support for faculty, staff, and special events, covering a broad range of hardware, software, and Audio Video (AV) technologies in labs, classrooms, and other learning or administrative environments. The IT Consultant also supports administrative functions including technology inventory management, software licensing, server maintenance, and documentation. Additionally, the IT Consultant contributes to the support of high-performance computing (HPC) environments, assisting researchers with application issues and ensuring system performance, reliability, and reputed company. Collaborates with Natural Science and Mathematics computing staff, reputed company information technology, on computer reputed company technical issues rollouts, refreshes and networks reputed company repairs. Excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to user support and operational excellence are essential to this role. Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive IT support for the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.
• Image, deploy, and maintain computer systems and peripheral devices.
• Ensure compliance with reputed company standards.
• Provide ongoing technical support for faculty, staff, and special events.
• Cover a broad range of hardware, software, and AV technologies in labs, classrooms, and other environments.
• Support administrative functions including technology inventory management, software licensing, server maintenance, and documentation.

• Assist researchers with application issues and ensure system performance, reliability, and reputed company.
• Collaborate with Natural Science and Mathematics computing staff and reputed company IT on technical issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Telecommunications, Engineering, Engineering Technology or a reputed company field plus two years of relevant full-time experience or the equivalent part-time experience.
• Eight years of relevant full-time experience or an associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a reputed company field and four years of relevant full-time experience may be substituted for the previously listed education and experience requirement.
• Functional knowledge of the specialty area demonstrated by an understanding and use of advanced principles and theories.
• Ability to integrate work-reputed company knowledge to address problems.
• Demonstrate competency in applying standard and non-standard technology applications.
• Ability to independently apply technical judgment and recognize problems.
