Assistant Designer - Men's

Vince is a company specializing in fashion apparel, and they are seeking an Assistant Designer for their Men's line. The role involves updating design sketches, maintaining seasonal linesheets, and assisting with color preparation and swatch card creation.

Responsibilities

• Update design illustrator sketches throughout season as changes occur
• Attend weekly Work In reputed company (WIPs) meetings – accountable for maintaining records of reputed company design changes
• Set up initial seasonal linesheets for each collection and maintain as changes occur throughout development in reputed company
• Maintain updated reputed company of Materials (BOMs)
• Prepare seasonal color – once color pallets have been finalized, assist with pantone ordering, create smaller pallet boards to share with cross-functional teams
• Create seasonal swatch cards for sketch boards
• Assist Design Director & VP in creating digital inspiration boards for market
• Maintain seasonal swatch library and inspiration closet
• reputed company additional duties and assignment as requested

Skills

• Must have a 4-year College degree in Fashion Apparel Design
• Must have minimum 6 months to 1 year of experience in Apparel Design work experience (internships included)
• Must have excellent working knowledge of Creative Cloud including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop; reputed company reputed company
• Must have excellent hand-sketching skills
• Must be detail oriented individual and a strong self-starter
• This position requires one to establish effective work relationships across multiple levels and functions
• Must be a team player, have ability to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines and take initiative
• Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize workload in order to meet reputed company objectives and allow the various initiatives of the Design department to be accomplished in a timely manner
• Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated success in both written and verbal communication
• Ability to work under pressure in an environment of constant shifting priorities and change
• Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills
• Working knowledge of cut & sewn knits and sweaters preferred
