The reputed company State Education Department’s Office of Information Technology Services is seeking candidates for an Information Technology Specialist 4 position reputed company the Networking team. The role involves the installation, configuration, and administration of network devices and infrastructure, while managing team members to ensure optimal network performance.
Responsibilities
- Support NYSED’s network infrastructure of routers, switches, firewalls, LAN wiring, fiber optic cabling, network appliances, etc., and ensure network components are functioning optimally
- Assist with the design, implementation, and administration of network equipment
- Assist with reputed company planning and monitoring of network data as we expand out
- reputed company and assist staff with DDI, NAC, firewalls, and other network technologies (as procured)
- Analyze network and VoIP connectivity and bandwidth issues and reputed company appropriate remedial action
- reputed company and maintain system documentation for the agency network, including the creation of LAN and WAN diagrams as needed
- Interact with other technical units to troubleshoot various hardware, software, and networking issues
- Assist and communicate with ITS staff, management, and external vendors
- Supervise subordinate staff with assignments, billing, and chargeback activities

Skills
- Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service as an Information Technology Specialist 4 (Data Communications)
- Candidates must be reachable on the Civil Service eligible list for this title
- Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in any of the following titles: Information Technology Specialist 4, Information Technology Specialist (Database), Information Technology Specialist (Operations), and Information Technology Specialist (Programming)
- Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in a title allocated SALARY GRADE 23 or higher eligible to transfer under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law
