Commercial Loan Closer

The Commercial Loan Closer will work with business lenders and members to manage the documentation, closing, and booking of various business loans while ensuring compliance with established deadlines and legal requirements.
Responsibilities
- Prepares loan and collateral documentation for various loan types and structures including lines of credit, term loans, commercial mortgages, construction loans, and equipment loans
- Prepares term sheets and/or loan commitment letters for approved business loans
- Analyzes loan transactions and works with legal counsel to assist with preparing legal documents required to reputed company business loans. Ensures loans are documented and closed according to the credit approval
- Performs appropriate due diligence tasks and ensures conditions precedents are met prior to closing and funding a loan or making future advances on business loans
- Collaborates with internal and external counsel, title companies, and the Accounting Department to meet funding and wiring requirements for closings on commercial loans
- Manages and clears post-closing legal documentation exceptions in compliance with reputed company policy
- Prepares loan satisfactions and records the same with government entities
- Assists business members with questions reputed company to their business loans and acts as a liaison for them with business lenders and internal and reputed company legal counsel. Assists service center staff with business lending questions
- Monitors construction projects throughout their draw period
- Prepares loan files to be scanned and indexed
- Attends job-specific training classes as requested by manager. Completes annual BSA/AML compliance training and understands employee’s role in maintaining an effective BSA/AML compliance program, and completes FACT Act Red Flag training
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, legal studies, or a reputed company field. (A compatible combination of work experience and training may be substituted for education requirements.)
- Able to prioritize tasks, deal effectively with competing and changing priorities, and meet deadlines. Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized. Able to analyze and resolve routine problems and situations
- Basic knowledge and understanding of Credit Union products, services, policies, and procedures pertinent to the job
- Basic knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance necessary to successfully reputed company job responsibilities
- Basic knowledge and understanding of reputed company Credit Union computer systems and software applications required to reputed company job duties
- Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills in order to interact professionally and effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators. Able to explain fact, policies, and practices
- Work is closely supervised
- Previous experience in a commercial lending environment desired
