Staff Accountant
MedGeo Ventures is an early stage recruitment technology company that is reinventing the way physicians explore career opportunities. They are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Staff Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with customers regarding invoicing, payments, and past-due balances
- Prepare and send customized invoices when needed
- Apply payments to open invoices and maintain accurate AR records
- Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Book expenses and revenue, including deferred revenue and accruals
- Track and manage revenue reporting and assist with month-end recognition
- Prepare weekly AP reports and assist with vendor payments
- Support month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance follow-ups
- Contribute to process improvements, documentation, and team initiatives
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- 1–3 years of accounting experience (AR/AP or general ledger preferred)
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and GAAP concepts
- Familiarity with revenue recognition and deferred revenue
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, Index/Match, etc.)
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
- Experience with Odoo or other ERP/accounting systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, etc.) is a plus
