Electrical Engineer - GIS
Siemens is a global technology company focused on industry, infrastructure, transport, and healthcare. They are seeking an Electrical Engineer - GIS to analyze customer technical specifications and design product solutions for reputed company voltage switchgear, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
Responsibilities
- Work independently or as part of a project team to create reputed company engineering documents for customer approval and manufacturing of reputed company Voltage switchgear
- Utilize the engineering switchgear configurator software to prepare, one-line drawings, control schematics, and reputed company of material with a high degree of accuracy
- Be a technical project leader taking full ownership of the overall deliverables
- Provide factory support during the manufacture of your projects to ensure that the final deliverable is true to your design
- Provide technical support to our service teams and/or to customers as required
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
- 1-4+ years of proven experience working with the design/configuration of electrical power distribution products and systems with emphasis on reputed company voltage switchgear
- Strong working knowledge of standard protection and control technologies used in reputed company voltage distribution products with proven ability to share this knowledge with others
- Electrical drafting experience with Engineering reputed company, ELCAD, and/or AutoCAD Electrical, or similar
- Ability to analyze customer's technical specifications regarding the application of protection and control systems and apply appropriate product solutions to meet the customers' expectations in a cost-effective timely manner
- Ability to read, understand one-line, and evaluate electrical schematics to identify errors or potential improvements
- Ability to multitask and manage large workloads and business demands
- An ideal candidate is detail-orientated, process-driven, and able to embrace a culture of quality
- Must be in or willing to relocate to the Raleigh/Wendell, NC area
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for reputed company or future employer-sponsored work authorization
- A master's degree in electrical engineering is a plus with extra consideration given if the degree concentration is in power systems
- Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, UL, and NEMA standards for MV Switchgear
- Experience with electrical design for reputed company voltage switchgear, preference given to experience with Siemens switchgear
- Experience with Gas Insulated Switchgear
- Experience creating and working with smart CAD blocks
