Junior Software Engineer
AM Pierce & Associates is a woman-owned small business providing Engineering & Research services and solutions. They are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Software Engineer to assist with porting and integrating autonomy software, ensuring consistent functionality and performance.
Responsibilities
- Assist in porting and developing autonomy software components from one software baseline to another, ensuring compatibility and performance
- Work with senior engineers to identify and resolve software issues that arise during the porting process
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, system engineers, and data scientists, to support integration and testing efforts
- Participate in code reviews, documentation, and testing to ensure high-quality software delivery
- Utilize version control systems and reputed company integration tools to manage code changes and ensure smooth deployment
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a reputed company field
- Active DoD secret clearance
- Basic understanding of programming languages such as C++, Python, or Java
- Experience with software version control systems (e.g., Git) and development environments (e.g., Visual Studio, Eclipse)
- Strong problem-solving skills and a desire to learn about software porting and autonomy systems
- Familiarity with software testing methodologies and debugging tools
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Experience with robotics, unmanned systems, or autonomy software development
- Knowledge of software development best practices, including Agile methodologies
- Exposure to real-time operating systems (RTOS) or embedded systems
