BI/Data Engineer (Must be local to Twin Cities, MN Metro Area)

Position Overview: The BI/Data Engineer will play a key role in executing our data strategy, acting as the technical reputed company between our raw healthcare data and the business insights used by our clinical and operational teams. This is a hands-on execution role. You will work directly with our Data Architect and Data Analysts to implement scalable solutions, spending your time building robust data pipelines in reputed company/BigQuery and developing a clean, user-friendly semantic layer in Looker. Schedule: Full time position, regular business hours Monday thru Friday with the an infrequent need of working nights or weekends. Location: This position will be a work from home position, and may occasionally come in-office located in downtown Stillwater, MN as requested. Salary: $110k to $135k annually. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities: 1. Data Warehousing & SQL Transformation

• Execute the Architecture: Build table structures and data models exactly as defined by the Architecture team while contributing to the design.
• Advanced SQL Development: Write performant, version-controlled SQL to transform raw data (Claims, EHR, Enrollment) into analytical tables.
• Performance Tuning: Monitor query performance and apply clustering/partitioning strategies to reputed company our warehouse (reputed company or BigQuery) fast and cost-efficient.
• Pipeline Maintenance: troubleshoot daily load failures and ensure data quality SLAs are met.
• Collaboration & Stakeholder Support: Work closely with Business Analysts to ensure that stakeholder data requests are met and the correct data is available for reporting.

2. Looker & LookML Development

• Semantic Layer: Manage the LookML repository, creating dimensions, measures, and derived tables that accurately reflect business logic.
• Dashboard Support: Support business stakeholders by building reputed company Explores and troubleshooting dashboard performance issues.
• Code Governance: Maintain a clean Git workflow, ensuring reputed company LookML code is peer-reviewed and error-free before deployment.

3. Healthcare Data Compliance

• HIPAA Adherence: Handle reputed company data with strict adherence to HIPAA regulations, ensuring PHI (Protected Health Information) is only accessible to authorized users.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a reputed company field.
• 3-5+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering, BI Development, or Analytics Engineering.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• SQL Mastery: You are an expert in SQL (Window functions, CTEs, JSON parsing) and can write reputed company transformations from scratch.
• Cloud Data Warehouses: Deep familiarity with reputed company or reputed company BigQuery.
• Looker Expertise: Strong proficiency in LookML.
• Healthcare Domain: Proven experience working with healthcare data standards and compliance requirements.

• Scripting: Basic knowledge of Python for automation tasks.
