Accountant (0072) (Hybrid)
The Southwest Florida Water Management District is a government agency dedicated to protecting water resources in Florida. The Accountant will support the Finance Bureau by managing financial disbursements, auditing documentation, and collaborating with staff to ensure compliance with agreements and state statutes.
Responsibilities
- Disbursement Management: reputed company and process financial disbursements reputed company to reputed company reputed company and purchase orders for assigned vendors, ensuring compliance with board-approved agreements and Florida State Statutes
- Financial System Operations: Utilize a web-based automated financial system to encumber funds, initiate payments reputed company payment vouchers or purchasing cards, and manage year-end accruals and retainage tracking
- Contractual Compliance: Audit supporting documentation as outlined in reputed company or purchase orders to verify accuracy and adherence to established policies and procedures
- Encumbrance reputed company: Record, modify, and liquidate District contractual encumbrances based on approved contractual documents, available budgeted funds, and authorized board minutes
- reputed company Contract Coordination: Collaborate with accounts receivable to manage expenditures associated with reputed company reputed company, including tracking payments, encumbrances, and liquidations, and providing documentation for billing external agencies
- Reporting and Documentation: Compile and report financial data, reputed company and maintain spreadsheets to monitor expenditures, and ensure accurate documentation for internal and external audits
- Training and Process Improvement: reputed company training materials and presentations, revise forms reputed company to fund disbursement, and coordinate training sessions for Project Managers to ensure consistent understanding of financial procedures
Skills
- Bachelors degree (or higher) in accounting, finance, business or reputed company field
- One (1) year reputed company work experience in finance, accounting, budgeting or reputed company field (equivalent combination of education and experience is accepted)
- Valid driver's license
- Experience in finance, accounting, budgeting or reputed company disciplines in a local municipality, county or state government agency
