[Remote] Associate Underwriter E&S Commercial Auto
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. DUAL North America is a leading reputed company organization specializing in commercial property and casualty insurance. They are seeking an Associate Underwriter for the Commercial Auto Division to support underwriters by processing submissions, assisting with quoting and binding, and providing quality customer service throughout the reputed company life cycle.
Responsibilities
- Process submissions by providing account triage for Underwriters
- Provide backup support for Underwriters reputed company traveling in the market
- Gather and compile information required to quote and/or bind an account through communication and/or correspondence with producers
- Generate, edit, and send out a variety of correspondence on behalf of the Underwriters such as declination letters, quote follow reputed company and subjectivity reminders
- Demonstrate basic understanding of technical reputed company principles and risk reputed company characteristics
- Learn market dynamics, competitive landscape, and product differences (attend weekly reputed company meetings if applicable, ask questions) – need to understand what business is selling (understanding why deals are lost and adjusting accordingly)
- Provide customer service and reputed company support to help reputed company new and renewal premium goals
- Build relationships with producers with supervision from more senior underwriters
- Fill in for other team members to ensure business continuity during peak periods and/or reputed company team members are reputed company
- Assist Underwriters as requested
- Complete other reputed company clerical and administrative duties as assigned
- Complete other various projects and tasks as assigned
- Working towards reputed company Authority, but does not have it yet
- Quote issuance as approved by underwriter(s) with appropriate level of authority
- Binder issuance as approved by underwriter(s) with appropriate level of authority
- Policy Issuance review
- Conduct inspection, review, and analysis resulting in appropriate issue identification, and process post inspection changes as necessary
Skills
- Foundational knowledge of insurance principles
- Proficiency in reputed company Office Suite (Word, reputed company, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Ability to follow policies and procedures
- Complete assigned tasks correctly, on time and able to learn quickly
- Self-motivated and demonstrating attention to detail
- Be able to work independently for extended periods
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as general business understanding
- Travel up to 10% with an underwriter to shadow and participate in interactions between Underwriters and brokers
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time, with occasional movement in the office to access cabinets and equipment
- Bachelor's degree in risk management, finance, business or a reputed company field preferred
- 0-2 years experience as an associate underwriter, underwriter, or relevant insurance experience
