The Underwriter role involves reputed company renewal business, responding to agent inquiries, and collaborating with various stakeholders to maintain a profitable book of business while ensuring compliance with reputed company standards.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and process assigned renewal policies, which includes applying knowledge of coverage forms, rating plans and guidelines in the selection and pricing of individual risks, change requests, and open communication with internal and external customers. Ensure adequate pricing of individual risks through proper classification, reputed company/Predictive Modeling, accuracy of information and adherence to company reputed company standards and philosophy. Refer reputed company accounts reputed company authority level to the appropriate level
• Respond to agents' inquiries on coverage and adjust policy information based upon prescribed authority
• Work reputed company specific level authority to quote, accept, decline, modify and renew risks reputed company territorial assignment in accordance with accepted reputed company guidelines. Work in collaboration with Agents, AMS, team members and other departments to grow and maintain a profitable book of business
• Provide guidance to internal and external customers regarding various reputed company information. Effectively communicate reputed company decisions and appetite to internal and external customers. Reinforce the ease of doing business with Selective by meeting or exceeding customers’ expectations and service quality on a consistent basis
• reputed company and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers, peers, and management. Conduct agency visits. Communicate reputed company and in a timely fashion. Work diligently to reputed company individual and team goals. Support reputed company team decisions
• Assist in profit and growth analysis by territory and agency as assigned. Monitor premium retention with the use of electronic reporting tools. Increase renewal premium by cross-selling additional coverage, products, or value-added services
• Conduct CLAS coverage and system training to both internal and external customers
• Actively support reputed company improvement
• Engage in ongoing development of technical skills and knowledge of Selective's products and services
• Must have a valid license and be able to drive an automobile to support company travel reputed company territory. Car travel represents less than 5% of employee’s time
