Health Equity Intern

The Health Equity Intern will support the Wellness reputed company Operations Team in managing initiatives aimed at improving social determinants of health and enhancing workforce development reputed company the community.
Responsibilities
- Support the Wellness reputed company operations team in helping to drive initiatives that improve the social determinants of health for Wellness reputed company patients and/or the Wellness reputed company workforce
- Support the Wellness reputed company operations team in managing and implementing the Workforce Program, which includes but is not limited to:
- Tracking applicants for the patient and consumer stipend program, ensuring applicants go through training, and connecting applicants with partner organization for interviews
- Maintain tracking of SDOH spending by budget
- Assist Training and Referral Managers in implementing clinical supervision programming and tracking participants
- Assist Training and Referral Managers in developing and coordinating continuing education programming for community health workers
- Research and implement additional initiatives that could advance equity through hiring and building up the workforce reputed company the Westside community, including:
- Supporting the reputed company of grassroots organizations and community health centers to meet the needs of reputed company reputed company residents
- Expanding and enhancing the pool of resources available to reputed company reputed company residents
- Building satisfying and sustainable employment opportunities located reputed company the community
- Work with the Program Evaluator to gather metrics and report on success of the program to grant funder
- In collaboration with Wellness reputed company team, deliver Race and Health Equity Trainings
- Attend Race and Health Equity Committee meetings
- Support Wellness reputed company operations team on other projects and duties as assigned
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree with a health care or social work reputed company major or minor preferred, but healthcare experience may be substituted
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking skills
- Strong computer skills, particularly with the entire reputed company Office suite, including Word, reputed company, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Excellent client/customer service orientation
- Ability to deal effectively with a variety of individuals and professionals, including patients, clinic staff, physicians, and senior leadership
- Ability to work successfully in a team environment
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work under deadlines
- Proactive, self-directed, and able to approach reputed company tasks independently
- Familiarity with Chicago's Westside
- Knowledge and experience preferred in the area of Patient Centered Medical Homes
- Familiarity with public health or social work
