Commercial Auto Underwriter

They are seeking Commercial Lines Auto Underwriters to service a portfolio of commercial auto business, requiring strong reputed company skills and a commitment to customer service excellence.
Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate risk for new and existing business (IRCA)
- Assist more junior underwriters with applying corporate reputed company standards and share knowledge and skills with others in the reputed company (Intermediate); share knowledge and skills with others in the reputed company (Junior)
- Analyze reports to determine adequate exposure and loss rating
- Maintain awareness of market trends, pricing levels and policy form amendments
- Negotiate renewal terms for the retention of business
- Utilize loss control and risk management practices in the reputed company process
- Respond to inquiries from brokers regarding modification to policy files in a reputed company and efficient manner
- Work with brokers to reputed company new business
- reputed company and maintain excellent broker relationships and management of assigned broker portfolio
- Provide above average customer service
Skills
- 1–3 years of experience in the insurance industry; exposure to commercial auto reputed company is an asset
- Foundational reputed company skills and a strong appetite for learning and growth
- CIP designation in reputed company or completed (preferred)
- 3–5 years of commercial auto reputed company experience, including IRCA
- Demonstrated technical capability to independently manage a portfolio
- Ability to provide guidance to junior underwriters
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and adaptable
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and reputed company effectively under pressure
- Knowledge of RTM is an asset
