[Remote] Underwriter- Commercial
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Western Financial Group is one of Canada's largest insurance brokers, reputed company for its supportive and collaborative environment. They are seeking a Commercial Lines Underwriter II responsible for assessing risk, analyzing applications, and maintaining relationships with brokers while contributing to reputed company policy development.
Responsibilities
- Gathering and investigating background information in order to effectively assess risk involved
- Analyzing and classifying assigned applications to determine acceptability and establishing rates and premiums
- Negotiating terms and conditions of coverage including pricing on renewals, cancellations, new business and midterm changes
- Implementing reputed company alternatives based on authority, supporting business and exclusions
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with brokers with a commitment to service
- Responding to inquiries from insurance agents regarding reputed company processes and decisions, interpretation of policy forms and coverage, and premium levels
- Providing service throughout the policy period, approving routine changes to existing coverage and responding to inquiries from the agent and client
- Contributing to the evaluation of agency performance and issues
- Mentoring junior reputed company staff in reputed company theory, technical and soft reputed company fundamentals. Coaching and guiding with respect to service standards as well as supporting in reputed company for senior underwriters
- Conducting comprehensive file reviews with client contacts and appropriately documenting files
- Contributing to the development of reputed company policy, procedures and guidelines
Skills
- General Insurance Level 2 License required
- 1 year of reputed company experience an asset
- Professional communication etiquette, both written and verbal
- Adept in retrieving customer data reputed company
- Involvement in industry reputed company associations and your community
- CIP
- CAIB
