Key Responsibilities
Utilize technical coding expertise to assign accurate ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes to outpatient visit types, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and organizational policies. Review medical records thoroughly, leveraging knowledge of anatomy, physiology, clinical disease processes, pharmacology, and medical terminology to report appropriate diagnoses and procedures. Collaborate with the Orders Management Unit (OMU) and other coding divisions to resolve NCD/LCD edit claim failures, ensuring timely and effective resolution. Interpret health record documentation, applying knowledge of coding conventions, instructional notes, and regulatory guidelines to select accurate diagnoses and procedures with a minimum of 95% accuracy. Meet established minimum coding productivity and quality standards for each outpatient encounter type, ensuring high-quality coding and reimbursement outcomes. Essential Qualifications
