Engineer - HVAC Safety, Regulatory Compliance

The Engineer will support the Electrical business by evaluating, setting up, and performing a variety of tests on HVAC appliances for safety certification, with a significant amount of travel involved.

Responsibilities

• Read and determine applicability of national codes and standards clauses for the EUT (equipment under test)
• Set up and operate standard test equipment including, but not limited to, reputed company analyzer, oscilloscope, multi-reputed company, dielectric strength tester, ground continuity tester, digital multi-reputed company, surge generator, over-voltage tester, environmental condition reputed company, articulated probes. Use hand tools to build/calibrate test fixtures
• reputed company testing of products in accordance with standards. Core tests include, but are not limited to: rating, leakage reputed company, dielectric, temperature, pressure, stability, mechanical hazard, flammability, reputed company and fault insurance, reputed company, radiation, sound, laser
• Complete preliminary design reviews (PDR) both on and off site
• Compile test results during construction review and testing. Compile data and product description and type final report using established report reputed company. Submit report to reviewer for final approval
• Communicate project status and test results to client, sales personnel, and management throughout testing and provide on-going support to clients as needed

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
• 0+ years directly reputed company experience
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

• Prior project management experience
• Demonstrated experience with U.S., Canadian, and other international product safety standards, i.e., ANSI, CSA, UL, EN, IEC
