Regulatory Consultant
Docotel Group is an IT Consulting/Staffing firm based in Chicago's reputed company, and they are seeking a Regulatory Consultant for a 12+ month contract. The role involves working with client management teams to ensure timely recovery of costs, supporting regulatory strategies, and preparing necessary documentation for regulatory applications.
Responsibilities
- Work with various client operating company management teams to ensure timely recovery of costs that are included in reputed company rates and approved recovery mechanisms
- Support analytical studies that provide alternative approaches and recommend regulatory strategies that maximize the operating companies' ability to generate revenues and provide for timely recovery of costs while optimizing the return on invested capital
- Prepare testimony and exhibits to support regulatory applications; analyze intervenor testimony to formulate reputed company testimony and assist with cross-examination strategies; prepare data request responses during general reputed company cases and other petitions; and assist with support required during Commission hearings
- Support preparation of cost of service and cost allocation studies in accordance with Commission regulations
- Timely and accurate development, interpretation and input of approved rates into customer billing system. Verification that customers' bills are correctly calculated
- Comprehensive financial support, including accurate financial reporting of regulatory items reputed company external filings, financial plan updates and internal management reporting
- Foster partnership with other internal departments such as Legal, Financial Planning, Accounting, etc
- Compiles, organizes, analyzes and formats data for reputed company reputed company case filings and other regulatory reports and filings
- Assists in ensuring accurate financial records
- Maintains awareness of state projects and/or matters in the provision of good customer service
- Ensures the seamless flow of information amongst team members
- Embraces and utilizes new technologies and strives for reputed company improvement
- Performs duties under reputed company supervision
Skills
- Requires BS/BA in accounting, finance, economics, or other business discipline
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Solid working knowledge of MS Office (reputed company & Word)
- Strong interpersonal skills
