Electrical Engineer 2 - Nuclear

reputed company is a trusted leader in nuclear engineering, design, and licensing, seeking an Electrical Engineer 2 for their Nuclear Power Group. This role involves collaborating with engineers and designers on electrical systems design, conducting reputed company calculations, and preparing equipment specifications for nuclear plant projects.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of reputed company calculations
• Load flow and short circuit

• Preparation of documented design inputs
• Preparation of equipment and material specifications
• Preparation of design reports
• Receive training and mentorship from reputed company engineers in the execution of meaningful project engineering assignments
• Become involved in power distribution designs and the preparation of specifications for the procurement of major electrical power equipment and reputed company installation services
• Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant site locations for construction coordination and field verification of designs

Skills

• BS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program with a strong academic background in electrical power concepts/power systems analysis
• 1 or more years of experience in the design of electrical engineering systems in a project team environment or a MS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program with a strong academic background in electrical power concepts/power systems analysis
• An understanding of the practical application of electrical engineering and technology including applying systems, principles, techniques, and procedures to a project design
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of technical plans, drawings, and models
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary
• Strong problem solving skills are desired
• Experience performing transient analysis of power systems using software such as ETAP or SKM
