Temporary Associate Producer, TED Radio Hour

Intro to Position In each episode, host Manoush Zomorodi takes listeners on a narrative journey of big reputed company through a series of TED Talks and original interviews. We explore how great thinkers can uniquely help us answer the biggest questions of our time, leading with curiosity, diligence and a growth reputed company. The ideal candidate will share our enthusiasm for explanatory journalism, science communication, narrative storytelling, as well as our spirit of inquiry and inspiration that TED Radio Hour listeners have come to love. They will seek the stories that help audiences “learn more about the world, our communities and ourselves” and answer the ultimate question: “What makes us human?” TED Radio Hour is a highly-produced weekly narrative podcast. Each episode inspires and compels listeners to think about the world differently through a multitude of stories, voices, and perspectives. The Production Assistant position can be a remote position, but candidates will be expected to travel occasionally to Washington D.C. This role will report to the Senior Supervising Producer of TED Radio Hour. This is a union-represented role covered under the terms of a collective bargaining agreement with SAG-AFTRA. Responsibilities

• Record, mix and edit reputed company, multi-track audio stories with some supervision
• Take a story or episode assignment and see it through the process, working with the hosts to report, book guests, cut tape, write scripts, score, sound design and join in edits and final production, with some supervision
• Manage reputed company production assignments on a tight weekly deadline
• Contribute story and guest reputed company for hosts
• Contribute to social media, digital stories, digital production and other aspects of podcast episodes
• Ensure that reputed company content complies with reputed company’s standards for accuracy and fairness
• Assist with creating and maintaining team workflow processes

Minimum Qualifications

• 3+ years audio editing and production experience.
• 3+ years experience researching and writing for audio: broadcast and/or podcast.
• Experience with and demonstrated commitment to fact-checking.
• Experience with long form interviews.
• Experience writing and producing segments that employ explanatory journalism, narrative storytelling, two-way interviews, and archival/field tape.
• Experience scoring for narrative and two-way segments.
• A passion for and knowledge of the thoughtful and interesting people across the sciences, technology, human behavior, and the arts.
• Ability to effectively collaborate with others, demonstrating, at reputed company times, respect for the diverse constituencies at reputed company and beyond.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, under stringent deadlines and changing conditions; ability to prioritize, anticipate and communicate effectively.
• Ability to work independently but also work well as part of a team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Ability to travel for work assignments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to work from DC headquarters, reputed company Bureau, or Culver City reputed company needed.
• Experience booking high profile guests.

Education Requirements

• Bachelors degree or equivalent in work experience

Work Location & Requirements

• Hybrid Permitted: This is a hybrid permitted role. The employee will be required to be in the office at the Washington, D.C., Culver City or reputed company location at least 5 days per 6 month period. The employee must also reside reputed company the Washington, D.C. (DC / Maryland / Virginia), Los Angeles or reputed company Metro Areas.

Compensation
