About the Firm

We’re an award-winning, Legal 500-recognised firm with a strong reputation for client care, professionalism and a supportive working culture. Our highly experienced and well respected Family Law Department continues to grow, and we are now seeking a Family Solicitor or Family Fee Earner to join our very supportive and friendly team and contribute to the ongoing success of the department.

About the Role

You’ll play a key role in supporting the Family Department by managing your own caseload, taking on new matters to assist colleagues with increasing workloads, and contributing to the overall success of the department. This is a varied and rewarding role, offering opportunities to undertake quality and varied family work while contributing to wider team initiatives. Unlike some other firms, we don't pigeon hole our fee earners according to work type so you will be able to keep your skills fresh in all areas such as Divorce, Finances and Children and anything and everything in between. We offer a hybrid working model, with team members attending the offices in Leicester and Market Harborough 2 days per week (1 day in each office) to support collaboration and client service.

Responsibilities

You will:

  • Provide high-quality, timely and professional advice and representation to family law clients
  • Manage your own caseload efficiently, ensuring regular communication on progress and costs
  • Draft a wide range of documents including divorce petitions, court applications, financial statements, narrative statements, court orders and briefs to counsel
  • Attend clients, take instructions and give clear legal advice
  • Attend court hearings where required
  • Support other fee earners on their files as needed
  • Contribute to marketing and business development initiatives, including writing articles and attending networking events
  • Manage the financial performance and compliance of your files
  • Assist junior team members with their development

Qualifications

Family Solicitor, Legal Executive or Family Law Fee Earner with a minimum of 2 years post qualified experience.

Required Skills

  • Skilled in managing a varied caseload, with strong drafting and advisory experience
  • Client-focused with excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Organised, proactive and able to prioritise a busy workload
  • Positive, collaborative and committed to supporting the wider department
  • Comfortable representing the firm at networking events and contributing to marketing activities
  • Knowledgeable in safeguarding, compliance, and best practice within family law

  • Active involvement in networking and external relationship building
  • Contributing to continuous improvement within the department
  • Achieving agreed fee-earning and financial targets

Pay range and compensation package

Salary

£32,000 to £45,000 dependent on experience.
