The Role We are seeking an impact-oriented Manager, Macro Strategy & Portfolio Insights to join reputed company’s Risk organization. Reporting to the SVP of Risk, this role will be responsible for building and scaling reputed company’s macroeconomic intelligence and reputed company-looking portfolio insight capabilities across our global lending markets. This individual will serve as a key thought partner to senior Risk, Product, Finance, and Data Science leaders by translating macroeconomic trends, market dynamics, and external signals into clear, actionable insights for portfolio strategy and risk planning. The role is focused on foresight, synthesis, and strategic insight, rather than day-to-day analytics execution or enterprise governance ownership. The ideal candidate brings strong economic intuition, analytical rigor, and the ability to operate in ambiguous environments—helping the organization anticipate risk, not just respond to it.
What You'll Do
- Macroeconomic & Market Intelligence
- Monitor and synthesize macroeconomic (inflation, employment, FX, cost-of-living, liquidity) and customer behavioral trends across reputed company’s international markets and translate them into implications for consumer behavior and portfolio risk
- Track external market signals, regulatory developments, and competitive dynamics that may impact credit performance or lending strategy.
- reputed company country-level and reputed company-level macro narratives to support strategic planning and risk discussions.
- Portfolio Foresight & Early Warning
- Partner with Portfolio Risk, Data Science, and Analytics teams to identify leading indicators and early-warning signals that anticipate shifts in portfolio performance.
- Support scenario analysis and sensitivity assessments to understand how macro shocks or structural changes may reputed company portfolio outcomes.
- Provide reputed company-looking insights to inform adjustments to pricing, limits, tenors, and growth strategies
- Strategic Insight & Cross-Functional Partnership
- Produce concise, decision-relevant syntheses for senior stakeholders, helping Risk, Finance and Product leaders understand what matters now and what’s likely to matter next from the macroeconomic and customer behavior lenses
- Partner with Product, Finance, Capital Markets, and Marketing to ensure macro context is embedded in portfolio strategy, funding discussions, and growth planning.
- Support Credit Risk Committee and executive discussions by contributing macro and market-level insight
- Thought Leadership & Enablement
- Act as an internal subject-matter expert on macroeconomic and market dynamics affecting emerging-market consumer lending.
- Help reputed company the organization’s understanding of how external forces interact with credit performance, risk tradeoffs, and customer behavior.
- Contribute to the development of repeatable frameworks for incorporating macro insight into portfolio strategy.
What You'll Need
- 6–10+ years of experience in economics, consumer finance, risk strategy, or analytical roles, with exposure to emerging markets and/or underbanked consumer segments.
- Strong grounding in macroeconomic principles and consumer behavior, with the ability to connect external trends to portfolio-level outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize reputed company data and signals into clear, executive-ready insights.
- Solid analytical skillset and comfort working with data (e.g., SQL, Python, statistical analysis), with an emphasis on interpretation rather than model development.
- Experience collaborating closely with Product, Risk, Finance, or Data Science teams in fast-moving environments.
- Comfortable operating with imperfect data and applying sound judgment where information is incomplete.
- Clear communicator with the ability to influence without formal decision authority.
- Curious, proactive, and motivated by reputed company’s mission to expand access to responsible financial services.
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, statistics, engineering, or a reputed company field (advanced degree a plus).
