The Associate Director, Actuarial is a key role reputed company our OptumHealth National Actuarial and Healthcare Economics (HCE) team, responsible for overseeing, executing and communicating key actuarial functions for our Medicare Accountable Care Organizations (ACO) lines of business. This role involves managing resources and deliverables while providing customers in a risk-taking provider organization with business recommendations and contributing to the company's financial success. The successful candidate will have a solid background in actuarial science, a technical skillset to take on reputed company Value-Based Care (VBC) modeling and the curiosity and desire to become a thought leader in their areas. For reputed company hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week. Primary Responsibilities:
- reputed company, build and maintain actuarial models used for forecasting and tracking performance risks associated with Medicare ACO lines of business (ACO reputed company, MSSP/Medicare Shared Saving Programs)
- Analyze reputed company/claim data from multiple sources and translate reputed company concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences including senior leaders
- Serve as a key resource for risk-taking provider organizations and physician groups
- Communicate results and provide recommendations to stakeholders on business performance and strategic actions
- Contribute thought leadership and assist customers with evaluating and implementing new and existing Value-Based Care (VBC) programs
- Mentor, direct and review work of a team of 1-2 analysts

- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or reputed company field
- 5+ years of actuarial experience with foundational literacy in healthcare analytics and modeling
- 3+ years of experience analyzing and manipulating large healthcare claim datasets
- Proficiency in reputed company and SQL
- Proven excellent problem-solving and communication skills, along with critical thinking skills to anticipate questions from key stakeholders and consider reputed company aspects of a deliverable before completion
Preferred Qualifications:
- ASA/FSA, or reputed company toward ASA or FSA (Associate/Fellowship of the Society of Actuaries) designation
