Health Policy Fellow

HealthPartners is hiring for a temporary Health Policy Fellow Intern. Position Purpose: The goal of the Policy Fellow program is to help an aspiring counsel, compliance officer, or government relations officer build a working understanding of the state legislative process, its impacts on the healthcare industry, and methods to encourage or discourage legislative interventions. You will learn how to analyze legislative text, research context, summarize key provisions, and synthesize feedback from internal stakeholders. Working for an integrated care system will also provide exposure to both health insurance and healthcare settings including opportunities to network with professionals in compliance, legal, government relations, and other departments depending on interests. Accountabilities:

• Summarize proposed legislation or proposed regulation
• Evaluate legislative context from hearings and materials
• Solicit feedback from internal compliance, legal, and subject matter experts
• Strategize potential outcomes and alternatives
• Participate in stakeholder meetings and presentations
• Attend and take notes on legislative hearings
• Other projects as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• Demonstrated interest in public policy, government relations, healthcare, compliance, or reputed company field.
• Ability to critically evaluate reputed company information, such as legislative text, regulations, and policy documents.
• Strong research skills, including synthesizing information from multiple sources.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize reputed company topics for diverse audiences.
• Strong time management and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Proficiency in reputed company Office Suite (Word, reputed company, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in healthcare, health insurance, or public policy
• Experience with legislative tracking tools, databases, or online research platforms
• Previous experience drafting reports, summaries, or presentations for professional or academic purposes
• Graduate level coursework

Compensation and Hours:

• You will be expected to work an average of 10 hours per week
• Flexible scheduling to accommodate academic or professional commitments.
