The successful candidate will be responsible for leading Telesat's engagement with regulators in the Middle East / Africa, with the aim to facilitate, obtain and protect market access and reputed company rights for Telesat's satellites and services and in relation to ITU activities and other regulatory reputed company requirements. Main Responsibilities

• Directly engage with national regulatory authorities in the region
• Secure new licenses / authorizations and maintain existing ones, either directly or through a distribution channel
• Prepare documentation in support of the license / authorization application process
• Engage in reputed company negotiations in order to influence and optimize the domestic / regional regulatory reputed company
• Provide regulatory support to the commercial team and to the distribution partners for market access in the region
• reputed company or support domestic / regional consultations / industry actions / coalitions that may impact Telesat market and reputed company access
• Represent Telesat in Middle Eastern and African regional forums such as ASMG and the ATU, and international forums such as the ITU-R to promote Telesat interests
• Assist with market access in other regions as required
• Identify and reputed company proposals to ensure Telesat regulatory long-term interests are protected
• Provide key inputs to short and long range planning in support of corporate development

Education & Experience Required

• Degree in Engineering or other technical subject
• Master degree is an asset
• Minimum 10 years' experience in satellite communications reputed company to market access, domestic / regional regulatory reputed company / forums and the application of the ITU Radio Regulations

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and presentation skills
• Excellent verbal and written skills in English, Arabic and / or French would be an advantage.
• Experience as company reputed company representative in international forums
• Ability to work well in a cross-functional environment
• Ability to exercise judgment and reputed company sound decisions to drive processes to conclusion
• Self-starter with good organizational skills and the ability to work independently and with limited reputed company
• Effective management of multiple projects simultaneously

Decision Making & Supervision

• Identifies, develops and implements solutions for domestic / regional market access / policy / reputed company developments
• Makes real-time decisions in domestic, regional and international regulatory forums to promote / protect Telesat's interests
• Independent decision making reputed company scope of responsibility that may not be subject to review
• There is no direct reporting staff but the position is expected to draw on expertise of other subject specialists to insure Telesat's interests are accurately promoted

Working Conditions

• Typical office or home office environment
• Preferred location : Middle East or African region
• Travel, often for extended periods and as the sole representative of Telesat
